Darke County General Health District is the Tuberculosis (TB) control agency for Darke County.
The TB control program’s mission is to protect the residents of Darke County from tuberculosis. Public health functions include disease surveillance, case finding, epidemiologic analysis and contact tracing.

TB tests are required by many employers and provide a screening tool to determine if someone has been exposed to the TB bacteria at some point in their life. It does not indicate active TB infection. If the TB Skin test is positive, a chest x-ray or other tests may be required. Because the skin test injection site must be checked by a nurse 48 to 72 hours after the test is administered, tests are given on Tuesdays from 8:00am – 10:30am and from 2:00pm – 5:00 pm during Walk-in Clinic hours.
