The Darke County Health Department has been awarded $300,000 from the Ohio EPA to go towards the repair/replacement of failing septic systems in Darke County.
To be eligible, the home must be owner/occupied and the homeowner must be current with property taxes and mortgage payments. The household income must be at or below 300% of the HHS poverty guildelines for at least 50% funding of the project. For example, a family of 1-4 people with a total household income or $72,750 or less would be eligible for at least 50% funding.
If you feel your septic system is failing or does not meet current code and your household income may qualify, please contact Sophie O’Connor, RS at 937-548-4196 ext. 208 for an application. Updates to systems that discharge off property will not qualify.
