The Darke County Health Department is now offering the second dose COVID-19 booster vaccines on Wednesdays at the Health Department, 300 Garst Avenue, Greenville. This will be walk-in hours, on Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. When you come in for your vaccine, please bring your COVID vaccination card with you.
Second dose booster shots are now available for those 50 years and older and people aged 18-49 years that are immunocompromised. Four months have to have passed since the first booster dose for both of these populations. Active cancer, AIDS, and being an organ transplant recipient are examples of immunosuppression. To see the full list of immunocompromised conditions, visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/recommendations/immuno.html.
For billing purposes, those who have medical coverage should bring a copy of their insurance card with them. A copy of the card will be made onsite and the insurance company will be billed for the administration of the vaccine. No patient will have to pay for the COVID vaccine or booster, insured or not. For any questions or additional information on this clinic, please contact the Health Department at 937-548-4196 ext. 224.
