Congratulations to Grace Winhoven, SIT for preparing a successful application for Darke County to receive the 2018 Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Mosquito Control Grant (MCG) to be used through 2019. In May, Darke County Health Department employees traveled to Columbus to accept grant money in order to continue the mosquito control and surveillance program. The Ohio EPA awards mosquito grant money allowing health departments and other organizations to participate in a statewide mosquito control and surveillance initiative. This money will be used to fund continued mosquito trapping, identification and testing, as well as community education and outreach. Anyone with questions about the grant or the current mosquito program can call the health department weekdays between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm at (937) 548-4196 ext. 203.
